Our Journey

From Skoobbooks to Gyftalala

2018

From a Balcony to a Brand

Our journey started as a team of six friends armed with a love for stationery and an eye for design. Working from the balcony of our parents’ house, we launched our very first venture, Skoobbooks (a clever palindrome of “Books”), creating personalized notebooks for school and college students. We didn’t just make notebooks; we made memories. From vibrant covers to unique themes, these notebooks were an instant hit. Within the first year, we received over 1,000 orders and knew we were onto something special. Our college dorm became our headquarters, late nights turned into fulfilling orders, and our hearts swelled with the support from our peers and community.

2019

Expanding Horizons and Facing Challenges

As Skoobbooks gained momentum, we ventured into the wider stationery sector. Armed with determination, we visited countless stationery shops, introducing them to our brand. The hard work paid off when we secured a massive bulk order from our college’s stationery store, marking our first major milestone in the retail world. However, this year also brought challenges. Three of our original six team members left to start their own similar businesses, becoming direct competitors. Despite the setback, we persevered with a smaller but more determined team.

2020

A Fresh Start with Gyftalala

This year marked a significant turning point. To better reflect our vision, we rebranded from Skoobbooks to Gyftalala. With a fresh name, new logo, and renewed energy, we embarked on the next chapter of our journey. In just six months, we hit 10,000 followers on social media, and the support from our growing community fueled us to launch our second product: Regular Scrapbooks. These weren’t your average photo albums. Designed for Gen Z, they featured mobile-captured photos, screenshots, selfies, and quirky moments, all at a price that didn’t break the bank. These scrapbooks became the go-to gift for students looking to cherish memories and share keepsakes.

2021

Celebrity Collaborations and a Boost in Popularity

By 2021, the team had been whittled down to just two people, but we didn’t let that stop us. This year brought an incredible boost for our brand through collaborations with celebrities, which significantly amplified our popularity and business growth. Their endorsements helped us reach new audiences, giving Gyftalala the visibility it needed to become a household name.

2022

Growing Pains and New Beginnings

This year, we moved into a much larger office to accommodate our growing business needs. While the upgrade was necessary, it came with significant financial challenges. Maintaining capital flow became a constant struggle, testing our resilience and determination to keep the dream alive.

2023

Weathering Financial Storms

The financial hurdles continued as we navigated the complexities of managing a bigger workspace and scaling operations. Despite these challenges, we remained focused on our goals, learning valuable lessons about perseverance and adaptability.

2024

Revolutionizing Memories with Splashbooks

This was the year we redefined photobooks with our third product: the Splashbooks. Each page featured a single, striking image enhanced with our signature splash effect and an optional caption to make every moment unforgettable. This year also marked another milestone: we launched our official website, creating a seamless experience for our customers to explore, customize, and order their Gyftalala creations online.

2025

Creating Magic with Music Books

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up to launch our most anticipated product yet: the Music Book. Imagine flipping through your favorite memories while your chosen song plays softly in the background. This innovation combines the emotional power of music with the timeless appeal of photobooks. The best part? The song will start playing as soon as you open the book and pause when you close it, making every moment magical.
